Jorn began his journey with God in 1991 at the age of 29 and soon sensed a passion to serve God and share Christ's love in tangible ways. He received his training and ordination through Grace Covenant Churches and Ministries in Lewistown Pa. Jorn became the first chaplain in the history of the Mifflin County prison system, where he spent 5 years encouraging inmates. He also developed a base of other local churches and trained those who would participate in this vital ministry.
His primary responsibility the last eight years was serving as Youth Pastor and then Associate Pastor at Grace Covenant Church in Lewistown. Jorn has extensive experience in cross cultural missions in developing nations. He has led mission teams to Nigeria, Mexico, Philippines, Nicaragua and Western Europe. During these trips he facilitated missions work through medical, construction and compassion ministries.
Jorn has been married for over 20 years to Bonnie and they have two children Anthony and Lauren. Anthony is at Penn State University Park. Lauren attends Penn State Altoona.
Jorn started MyLife Student ministry on the Penn State Campus. In this ministry he is encouraging young people by teaching them about God's love and equipping them with God's Word.
Many of these young adults are participating with Discovery Road Church.
Jorn's heart is to serve the people of Centre County through Discovery Road Church. His desire is to stir up a passionate love for God while helping people find their God given purpose and to live a full and exciting life in Christ. His dream is to see a multi-cultural, multi-generational church serving and working together in State College and Centre County. |
